Semax: ACTH-Derived Neurological Research Peptide Semax is a synthetic seven-amino-acid peptide derived from a short fragment of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH). Its amino-acid sequence is Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro. Unlike full-length ACTH, Semax is studied primarily for neurological activity rather than hormonal effects. It has attracted scientific interest because of its observed influence on neurotrophic signaling, gene expression, learning, memory, and cellular responses to neurological stress in experimental models.
